My acute attention to detail as both a writer and an editor has made me a meticulous copy editor, and it was copy editing that first ushered me into journalism. I served as a copy desk chief for my university's independent student newspaper for a year, and I returned to copy editing for NYU's student-produced science news website Scienceline.

I'm a word nerd at heart. Where grammar and style rules make people's eyes roll, mine light up. Where sloppy punctuation and spelling errors abound, I swoop in to fix them. I'm especially attuned to Associated Press (AP) Style, but I have also copy edited according to Chicago Manual of Style and others. I have also helped build publication-specific style guides from scratch.
